Dear Parents,

Happy May Day! I hope you are having a good week. This week we are finishing up Theme 7 in reading. We will test next week. The main sounds in the past two weeks are the oo as in book and oo as in moon. Theme 7 has had some delightful stories.

In math we are working on telling time to the hour and ½ hour. The children really understand this concept.

We have been having some fun reading frog stories. Ask your child to tell you the difference between toads and frogs. We have also been discussing animals that hatch from eggs.

In religion we are learning about the first Christians. These lessons fit in well with the weekday Mass readings.

Our field trip will be Thursday, May 15. We will be going to the Amazin’ Barnyard. Look for permission slips in next week’s folder.

Tomorrow is library day and our spelling test day. Have a good weekend.
